Hello, friends. I have got a great video for you today. If you don’t already know, my name is Justin Quirion.
Like you, I want to be able to understand economy related words because I want to be an economist.
At the moment, I'm in the Spring Board program at Ahuntsic College, and I've been doing this since this semester. Although I want to become an economist, so next semester I will start Social Science with mathematics then I will go to university in the program of economy and politics. The goal of the Economy and Politics program is to understand the actual social issues and to understand the link between these issues and the economy and politics.
My goal in this video is to show you how to use the virtual writing tutor to do a glossary of economic terms in the goal to understand and master these terms.
Get ready to follow my step-by-step tutorial.
It is astonishing what you can do with the website I’m going to show you.
During the semester, when you are learning new words and terms, there are not enough hours in the day to memorize everything we have to know.
When we forget some terms, especially when we are talking about economy related terms, we can easily get lost in a discussion or while reading an article which can bias our comprehension of the subject.
Take for instance, an article that is about the stock market. The stock market is a topic that has its proper slang. By not knowing the terms used, we can miss out on the most important details which leads to a misconception or a misunderstanding of the topic.
That can be difficult. But don’t worry. I have found the solution. In the next few minutes, I’ll show you exactly how to solve this problem.
First, open your browser. Type this URL (vitualwritingtutor.com) into the address bar and hit enter. If you typed the URL correctly, you will see this page.
At the top of the screen, you will see a logo and the navigation menu. On the right-hand side, you can see the link to login. Once you have logged in, in the middle of the navigation bar, there is a drop-down menu with the words "Writing tools." On that list, you will see the words "Glossary Creator." Click the link.
Now, you have to listen carefully because this is the important part. To create the glossary on the virtual writing tutor, you will firstly have to submit a title. For instance, I called mine : the economist glossary. After that, you will have to indicate a topic that you want to share: for me the topic is about economy terms. Then, you will have to indicate the goal behind your glossary. For my part, I wrote this : "This glossary is made to learn, pronounce and understand words about economy in the goal to be more informed about this specific work field. Basically, by learning, pronouncing and understanding the words down below you will be better with economy related communications." Then, you will get to the fun part where you can learn and understand words. To do that, you will have to choose a word you want to define: for my part I chose the word arbitrage. Afterwards you will have to identify the part of speech of the word you chose. Then, you can automatically add an audio file for the pronunciation of the word by clicking on the little pencil and then by clicking on the sound icon, the press save. After, you have to add a definition that you picked up from a dictionary or online. Then, you can add a translation for the word in the language that you want. After, you may add an example of the word you defined in a sentence. Finally, you can add a picture that demonstrates the term. After that, you can add more terms by clicking on the icon "add term". Then, when you are done with your glossary, you can click on publish to see your final result.
I promised I would show you how to master economy related terms with a glossary, and I did it using the website virtualwritingtutor.com
Before I finish, I want you to click the subscribe button and the bell so that you don't miss my next video, and then take a moment to share this tutorial on social media. Thanks for watching.
