The belief that all natural things, such as plants, animals, rocks, and thunder, have spirits and can influence human events.

One of the short parts like threads at the edge of a nerve cell that carry messages to the cell.

A political system based on a very powerful leader, state control, and being extremely proud of country and race, and in which political opposition is not allowed.

The process of making something start to be considered normal.

The practice of being aware of your body, mind, and feelings in the present moment, thought to create a feeling of calm.

A substance given to someone who is told that it is a particular medicine, either to make that person feel as if they are getting better or to compare the effect of the particular medicine when given to other.

The front part of the brain, that is important in human behaviour such as planning, decision-making, and self-control.

A social or political movement that aims to represent the interests of ordinary people through political change and the support of government actions.
