I created this glossary to understand the difficult words about my field of study, and maybe it could help you guys understand the more medical term.This glossary contains 20 words that in my opinion are really important for my future job. This glossary also contains, the definitions, how to say the words and some images to help you visualize and understand better.
Amplifier
Noun
It’s an electronic device for increasing the amplitude of electrical signals, used chiefly in sound reproduction.
Example: They were instructed to wear a microphone and amplifier that increased sound to my hearing aids.

Aneurysm
Noun
An aneurysm is a bulging, weakened area in the wall of a blood vessel resulting in an abnormal widening or ballooning greater than 50% of the vessel's normal diameter.
Example: A surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm is a good solution.

Biopsy
Noun
An examination of tissue removed from a living body to discover the presence, cause, or extent of a disease.
Example: We can perform a biopsy to define the nature of unknown bump.

It is a slow hearth rate.

It is an X-ray image made using a form of tomography in which a computer controls the motion of the X-ray source and detectors, processes the data, and produces the image.
Example: A CT scan is a good method if we want to take a picture of a patient body to find any anomaly.

It appears in the body in the form of a membranous sac or cavity of abnormal character containing fluid.
Example: There was also removal of a corpus cyst on the right ovary, which was then repaired.

Diaphragm

The diaphragm is a thin skeletal muscle that sits at the base of the chest and separates the abdomen from the chest.
Example: Below the liver we have the diaphragm.

Aims to observe the circulation of blood in the veins and arteries.
Example: We often use Doppler colour when we want to see the circulation of the veins and arteries.

Echogenicity
Noun
It’s the ability to reflect or transmit ultrasons waves in the context of surrounding tissues. Whenever there is an interface of structures with different echogenicities, a visible difference in contrast will be apparent on the screen.
Example: A liver ultrasound showed areas of increased echogenicity.

Hypertension
Noun
Hypertension is when the pressure in your blood vessels is too high (140/90 mm Hg or higher).
Example: Recent tests shows signs of hypertension.

Intracranial
Noun
Within the cranium, the bony dome that houses and protects the brain.
Example: An intracranial hemorrhage is bleeding within the cranium due to a stroke.

Intravenous tubing

It is a plastic conduit used to administer various fluids to patients through a needle inserted into one of the patient’s veins.
Example: When a patient need some medication, a nurse can install an intravenous tubing, so they can inject the medication.

It is a local coagulation or clotting of the blood in a part of the circulatory system.
Example: All strokes refer to either an embolism or a thrombosis in the anterior circulation.
