This is my glossary of 20 words about my program, Police Technology. I in my second year. I love this program. English is important in my field of study because I'll sometimes need to interact with people that don't speak French at all.
Alibi
noun
a claim or piece of evidence that one was elsewhere when an act, especially a criminal one, is alleged to have taken place
Example: I had an alibi when those police officers interrogated me.

Bulletproof vest
noun
apparel specifically designed to protect the wearer from the impact of firearm bullets on his/her vital organs.
Example: I need my bulletproof vest to go out of the police station.

Crime scene tape
noun
Crime scene tape is a long, thin material used to secure crime scenes by indicating that access will be denied to people who are not authorized to be in the area.
Example: I put crime scene tape all around the area.

Criminal code
noun
A criminal code is a document that compiles all, or a significant amount of, a particular jurisdiction's criminal law
Example: I need my criminal code to complete the course.

Dispatch
verb

Taser
noun
A Taser is a conducted energy device (CED) primarily used to incapacitate people, allowing them to be approached and handled in an unresisting and thus safe manner.
Example: I used a taser on the suspect to put him down.

Testimony

a formal written or spoken statement, especially one given in a court of law.

Traffic ticket
noun
a piece of paper that officially tells a person that he or she has driven or parked a car improperly and will have to pay a fine

Warrant
noun
It is an official document, signed by a judge or other person in authority. There are different types of warrants, including search warrants, arrest warrants, and execution warrants.
Example: I have a warrant to arrest you now.

Example: Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident.
