This glossary is about sports in general. I live for watching and playing sports.

Aerobic
adjective
Meaning with oxygen. Aerobic training is at a lower intensity, with the purpose of stimulating aerobic metabolism to improve.
Example: I am focusing on aerobic training.

Anterior
adjective
Anatomical term for the front side.
Example: I won't do that mistake because of an anterior experience.

Assist
Noun
Attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the puck towards the scoring teammate.
Example: Morgan Rielly had 2 assists last game.

Athletics
Noun
exercises, sports, or games engaged in by athletes
Example: I like to do athletics. It remains me healty.

Badminton
Noun
a game played on a rectangular court by two players or two pairs of players equipped with light rackets used to volley a shuttlecock over a high net that divides the court in half.
Example: I played badminton yesterday.

Noun
Short for ankle bender, a derogatory term for a player who bends their ankles when skating.
Example: I had a bender last game.

Boarding
Noun
Checking a defenseless player and causing them to violently impact the boards. A penalty.[2]
Example: Eric Staal had a boarding penalty last night.

Glass walls that surround the playing surface.
Example: He crashed him into the boards.

Noun
the act or sport of riding or traveling by bicycle, motorcycle, etc.
Example: I love to do sports, especially cycling.

Noun
The body's ability to exercise with minimal fatigue. Often used with other terms such as; endurance training, muscular endurance and cardiorespiratory endurance.
Example: I don't have a good endurance.

Faceoff
Noun
The method used to begin play at the beginning of a period or after a stoppage of play. The two teams line up in opposition to each other. One player from each team attempts to gain control of the puck after it is dropped by an official between their sticks onto a face-off spot on the ice.
Example: That was the first faceoff of the game.

flow
Noun
A term for long, flowing hair, popular among hockey players.
Example: This player has flow.

Gap
Noun
Space between the opponent and the puck.
Example: There is not a big gap between you and me.

Hit
noun
a body check that "removes the opposing player from the puck.
Example: I hit this player so bad.

Jockstrap
noun
A jockstrap is a simple device used to protect the testicles of a male ice hockey player.
Example: I putted a jockstrap to protect myself.

Noun
A person who regulates game play, either on or off the ice. See also: linesman, referee
Example: There was 4 officials on the ice.

noun
a large pack or cluster of bicyclists in a road race, riding closely together to reduce wind resistance and conserve their energy.
Example: I'm in the middle of the peleton.
