Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Lily-Rose and I'm 20 years old. I'm at Ahuntsic College to finish my college degree, but I'm not in a particular program. I'm only doing my basic classes. Like the majority of people, we may sometimes can't know what a certain word means, and especially in areas such as Industrial Relations

Even though sometimes I have to look for a word in the dictionary, what helps me enormously is to make glossaries, and I'm now very good at making it.

Now, thanks to the glossary, I now know several words in the field of study of Industrial Relations that I did not know before.

My goal today is to show you how to make an excellent glossary for your field of study that will serve you all your life.

So, keep looking and get ready to follow the steps.

You'll be surprised how easy it is to make a glossary.

The Problem

The major problem with making a glossary is to be careful not to make an error because it could make your glossary less credible.

If your glossary is not credible because of errors, then fewer people will read it.

For example, you could make a mistake in defining a word or make grammar errors.

But don't worry, I'm going to show you how to do the glossary with the website Virtual Writing Tutor so that there is as little error as possible.

The Quest

First of all, you can open a new tab in your browser and write VirtualWritingTutor.com in the address bar.

If you have typed it correctly, you will see this page appear. In the top right-hand corner, you will see a link on the navigation menu to login. Once you have logged in, in the middle of the navigation bar, there is a drop-down menu with the words "Writing Tools." On that list, you will see the words "Glossary Creator." Click the link.

The Solution

First, you're going where it's written "Create New Glossary" on the right hand-side of the screen. And you write the name of your glossary in the text area. After that, you click on the submit button. So, you’re going to be on the page to edit your glossary. On the left hand-side of the screen, you can see the titles of each section. So, we have the title first that we wrote earlier and the topic. So, you click the edit button to add the subject of your glossary to the text area and click on the button save. So, you're then going to write a short introduction to present your glossary and why you did it. We're now going to write our first term to define just below the introduction where it's written term 1. The first term I want to define is the word accounting since it is widely used in my field of study. So, I'm going to open a new tab and write in the address bar" meaning accounting" and click enter. I'll look for the definition of my word and copy it to past it in the "definition" section of my glossary. Below the text area, there is a button written "Check grammar" to check if my text does not contain an error before saving it. It's important to always click on it before saving. You can identify the part of speech by returning to the google page and it will be written what part of the speech is your word. Mine is a noun, so I'm going to write it in part of the speech. So, you can then go to the "Pronunciation" section and write your term. Click on the speaker to generate a text-to-speech audio file of your word and click save. So, you're going to be able to learn how to pronounce You will be able to continue in the "translation" section and write the translation of your word in French. Then, you can go to the "Example" section and write a sentence with your word so that people understand the meaning of the word. And you can finally add an image that represents your word. You can add the number of terms you want by clicking on the + term button in the bottom left corner or the screen. Don't forget to publish your glossary when you finish by clicking on the " Publish" button in the top corner of the screen. It's going to give you a result like this.
