Hello, my name is Justine, and I am currently studying Police Technology. I am in my second year at Ahuntsic College and have one more year before graduating. My program involves courses of criminology, police interventions, laws and many more. After that, I will attend Nicolet for a 15-week training program that all Police Technology students must complete before becoming a police officer. In the future, I would like to specialize in a specific field such as an investigator, detective, or dog handler. However, before starting my career, I hope to travel and volunteer for a few months in another country.
Like most people, I wouldn't want to be embarrassed while doing my job because I didn't know how to pronounce a certain word. We all want success in our career and profession, am I right?
I have been learning English since I was 8 years old and have many friends whose first language is English, which has helped me develop my speaking skills. However, police terminology is not something we often study at school. As a police officer in Montreal, it is inevitable that we will have to communicate in English with the people we are helping.
As I said before, I have been in this program for more than a year now.
My objective with this video is to demonstrate how to improve your pronunciation using the Virtual Writing Tutor, which can also help with grammar.

I have come to the realization that we have not been learning English terms effectively, and this is causing me some stress.
I am worried not only about my ability to express my thoughts clearly in English, but also about my pronunciation being so poor that others may not be able to understand me.
For example, imagine that you are on an important crime scene, and you forget what something is called in English.
However, I have found a solution and will demonstrate how to address this issue in the next few seconds.
Firstly, open your preferred web browser. Personally, I prefer using Safari, but feel free to use whichever browser you prefer. Next, type in the following URL: https://virtualwritingtutor.com/ and hit enter.
In the top left corner of the screen, you will see a logo and just below it, you will find the navigation menu. This menu contains various tools, but for the purpose of this video, we will only be using the home page. In the middle of the screen, there is a gray rectangle with the words "Type, speak, or copy-paste your text here." This is where you can input the text you want to check the pronunciation of.
You can now write whichever word you want to check. I will be using the word: bailiff. Now that we have written the word, you can press the microphone on the right-hand side of the screen. Furthermore, you can also check the grammar by pressing the blue box that says, “check grammar”. Here is another example: I will write the phrase: I was a victim of a hit-and-run, in the text box in the middle of the screen. I will now press the microphone.
