Hello. My name is Ndolo. I have an interesting video to show you all today that will make sure that at the end of it, you are able to use the amazing online checker for all future grammar problems! And it's free! But let's start with a small introduction. As you know, my name is Ndolo. I have been studying Natural Science for 2 years. I'm now in my third year and plan to finish next semester. This program is very vast, but I'm in the one related to mathematics and physics since I plan to study Software engineering at university. A software engineer designs, builds, test and maintains software applications using programming languages.
After I graduate university, I plan to work in a tech company such as Google, Microsoft, Apple or any small tech startup.
Working for those companies will mean that you have to communicate in English with non-technical stakeholders. Everybody wants to impress and have them to agree with your ideas. And for that you need to make no grammar mistakes in writing and pronunciation.
The site that I will show you how to use is a great way to get rid of all plausible errors that you can face.
Let's begin by openning a new tab in your browser. In the address bar, write the URL of the site which is VirtualWritingTutor.com and hit enter. Press this following link. This page should appear to you. You should see the logo on the top left-hand corner. On the blue stripe navigation bar there are several fuctionalities. The one fardest to the rigth next to the three line menu will let you login which I have already. If you check below that, there is a text area in the middle of the screen. If you look at the bottom rigth-hand corner of that box, you can see several icons such as 3 samples of texts, a spelling checker and more icons that will help you with your pronunciation. Above of the text area, there are buttons that will help you correct all your texts.
As a Software engineer, the best tool to use regarding our problem would be the grammar checker. For example, if write "I have tested the system yesterday." After checking the grammar, the site will let you know your word, paragraph and error count and the density of your errors. In this example, it explains that you cannot use the Present Perfect with a specific time in the past. Use the Simple Past instead: "tested". Engineers can also find some difficulty with the pronunciation of a word. To make sure that you make no mistake in front of these serious stakeholders, you should try writing the word in the text box and clicking on the speech button to hear the good pronunciation. For example, you can write the word algorithm and after pressing the button you will get the correct way to say the word.
So, this is how you can use this site if you are a Software engineer. My goal was to show you how to prevent grammar mistakes in your writing and pronunciation. I hope my explanations will prove to be helpful! Have a nice day and thank you for watching.
