How can you be prepared to face a patient who doesn't speak french?

Introduction

Hello everyone, my name's Carl-Alexandre Joseph and welcome to my first screencast. If you already read my title then you may know what I'll be talking about. I'm a student in College Ahuntsic studying in diagnostic imaging to become an x-ray tech and I've been in the program for three years. To briefly summarize what I do, it's simply learning to basic of how x-rays are created, how they make an image with the help of technology, how they affect the human body, how to use the multiple machines that we have and how to do exams on patients. It's quite sophisticated but it's a fun and interesting learning experience.

Since this is a program where a lot of courses requires you to excel in both the theory and lab section it's stressful because failing one miserably could cause you to fail the entire course and we don't want that. I've been through that many times and I'm here to guide and help you in those tough times.

It's quite hard to remember the objectives and the structure that we need to see during an exam because I tend to forget easily but I try my best to remember by studying more often by linking what I've remembered in my theory class and lab class to make my comprehension easier.

Even though I failed both of my biology class miserably, when I redid them, I had an average score of above 80% for both which ended up being more useful for me since it helped a lot for my other classes since I remembered my anatomy.

My main goal is that I want everybody to be more confident and less stressful in exams so that you can reach perfection and be ready for multiple types of situations.

All I need you to do, is to pay attention to me and use your ears. You can also take notes if you want.

So next I'll talk about something that may be relatable to you.

The Problem

What may be the main problem for a lot of students is how to interact with a certain type of patient.

If you can't communicate in english with a patient, they might not be able to follow your instructions and it will be more hard to do an exam since they are more likely to move or do something that doesn't help.

For example, when I was doing an internship, the patient couldn't speak french so she couldn't properly follow the instruction of the tech but luckily the patient had a daughter who could translate for her.

To fix those language barrier issues, Virtual Writing Tutor can help upgrade your english and be more ready for those types of situations.
